Scanned PDF to Word — frequently asked questions

How do I turn a scan into an editable document?
Upload the scan, choose the language and run the conversion. The recognised text is written into a .docx file.
Will the original layout be preserved?
Only loosely. OCR recovers text, not the exact design, so columns, tables and images will need rework in Word.
Why are there spelling mistakes?
OCR guesses characters from pixels. Low resolution, noise, unusual fonts and skew all cause misreads — proofread before sending the document on.
What resolution should I scan at?
Around 300 DPI in black and white or greyscale usually gives the best results.
Is handwriting supported?
No. Recognition is designed for printed text.
