Merge PDF — frequently asked questions
- How do I merge PDF files?
- Add two or more PDFs, drag them into the order you want, then press Merge. The tool writes a new PDF containing every page of every file in that order.
- How many PDFs can I merge at once?
- There is no fixed limit in the tool itself. In practice you are limited by the memory your browser can use, so very large scanned files are best merged in smaller batches.
- Does merging reduce quality?
- No. Pages are copied as-is, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution. If the result is too big, run it through Compress PDF afterwards.
- Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
- Remove the password first with Unlock PDF (you need the correct password), then merge the unlocked file.
- Can I reorder pages after merging?
- Yes. Open the merged file in Reorder Pages to move individual pages, or in Delete Pages to remove any you do not need.
- Is my file uploaded anywhere?
- No. Merging is done by the page in your browser, so the PDFs are not sent to PDFSolution servers.
