Repair PDF — frequently asked questions

Can every broken PDF be repaired?
No. If the underlying page data is missing or truncated, there is nothing to recover. Repair works best when the structure is damaged but the content is still present.
Why does my PDF fail to open elsewhere?
Common causes are an interrupted download, a failed sync, or a generator that wrote an invalid file.
Will repairing change my content?
The tool rebuilds structure and keeps whatever page content it can read. Damaged pages may still be missing.
What if the file is encrypted?
Unlock it first with Unlock PDF using the correct password.
It opened but looks wrong — what now?
Try PDF/A normalisation, or re-export the document from its original source if you still have it.
